Before
Thanks to my life experience, education background, challenges I encountered and especially my family for inspiring and encouraging me to pursue a graduate degree abroad.
Education Background
I led a tough high school life because of my poor academic performance. I used to wonder why I could not catch up with other classmates. Fortunately, I overcame this problem in my senior year. I started studying with a few of my good friends instead of struggling with the abstruse course materials by myself; specifically, we discussed the materials and solved the questions together, which greatly improved my grades. After the college entrance exam, I got the admission to the Department of Atmosphere at *****. During my freshman year, I visited a number of exhibitions related to machine tool design and innovative robot design. I was impressed by these compelling mechanical engineering applications beneficial to humanity, which motivated me to transfer my major to mechanical engineering.
In my junior year, my outstanding academic performance qualified me for exchanging to ***** University in Singapore. I participated in the cutting-edge research project and collaborated with lab members from various countries, an experience confirms my preparation for the challenge of graduate studies in a foreign country.
Life Experience
I was fortunate to be born in a family with open-minded parents so that I could access to a variety of knowledge including my profession knowledge and diverse culture; thus, I could keep absorbing up-to-date conception. My father is a businessman, providing me opportunities to meet people from other countries such as United States, Japan, China or Vietnam. These experiences left me anticipating interacting with people from every corner in this global village. On the other hand, my sister has exchanged to several countries since she attended university. She brought a lot of interesting thinking and anecdotes from her experience. She also shared with us how she overcame the cultural shock and how she interacted with people from different cultural background. Motivated by my father and sister, I aspire to study abroad to broaden my horizons.
